American Football watchers have become accustomed to seeing the wide receiver rock cornrows for several years.
And they were left gobsmacked after the 25-year-old appeared to ditch his locks in favour of a new haircut.
The Minnesota Vikings star was seen rocking a low fade afro after having his braids undone and a fresh trim last week.
Footage of the former LSU Tigers standout getting his hair cut went viral on social media and became the talk of NFL fans.
One wrote on X: “THIS WAS NOT THE MOVE.”
Another said: ” This one hurt lol.”
And another said: “Super Bowl fresh.”
One remarked: “That 80’s/90’s look.”
And another chimed in: “Bro made the same mistake I did.”
It soon, however, became apparent that Jefferson’s transformation wasn’t permanent and that he was wearing a wig for a Super Bowl 59 commercial.
Jefferson made a cameo appearance in the commercial calling for women’s flag football to become a varsity sport across the country.
Jefferson shared a video of the advert with his near two million Instagram followers.
His accompanying caption read: “Leave the past behind.
“Let’s make girl’s flag football a varsity sport in all 50 states.”
